We had earlier informed you that Deepika Padukone will be seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the action drama. Interestingly, John Abraham is rumoured to be playing the main antagonist in the film.

According to a report in an entertainment portal, the makers are eyeing a Diwali 2021 release for Shah Rukh Khan's next film after 'Zero'. The shoot is expected to commence in Mumbai from next month. The production house will shoot the solo portions of King Khan in November 2020 while Deepika Padukone and John Abraham will join the team from early next year, the report added. Interestingly, the makers plan to shoot the film at different overseas locations.

"Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra go down a long way and most of the SRK – YRF films have arrived during the Diwali weekend. Pathan will be no different. They are planning the schedule as well as post production in a manner that the film releases on Diwali next year," a source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama.

If 'Pathan' releases on Diwali 2021, then Shah Rukh will be seen on the big screen after almost three years as 'Zero' released in December 2018. The Aanand L Rai directorial also starred Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif.

Speculations are also rife that the 'Chennai Express' star will play a double role in Atlee's upcoming drama. If a grapevine is to be believed, King Khan will be seen in a special appearance in Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer 'Brahmastra'.

The 'Om Shanti Om' actor recently conducted an interactive session on Twitter and replied to several questions. One of the fans asked him when he will announce his next project. SRK wrote, "Meri life ke pachaas se bhi upar ho gaye....films karte karte. Obviously yehi karta rahoonga aur agle pachaas saal tum please dekhte rehna."
