New Delhi: The first weekend of Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s love story ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ was very successful. Sunday (July 2) was the film's best day of the week in terms of ticket sales. The film saw a minimal drop on working Friday, grossing Rs 7 Cr. at the box office and rebound its collection with Rs 10.10 Cr. on Saturday and continuing its upward trend with a collection of 12.15 Cr. on Sunday.
The film's success will be judged based on how well it does throughout the week. If the movie did well on Monday, it had a good chance of holding up for the rest of the week.
Positive word of mouth helped the movie at the box office succeed. Reviews suggest that ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ will maintain its popularity throughout the week.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the day 3 figure of the film on social media.
The film is now projected to earn over Rs 50 crore in India by the end of this week.
The film review on ABP Live reads: 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' ends up becoming something more than an entertainer. Like the film had to qualify some social angle exam to become watchable in a theatre. Truthfully, that's a common formula template many filmmakers have been exploring, especially since content consumption patterns have changed so much post-pandemic. But, why succumb to the need of audience likes/dislikes? If the film has the potential to survive standalone on the basis of the story it tells, why purposely add elements like spoon-feeding a social message when it can say all that in a story without being literal about it?
Supriya Pathak, Gajraj Rao, Siddharth Randheria, Anooradha Patel, Rajpal Yadav, Nirrmite Saawaant, and Shikha Talsania also appear in the Sameer Vidwans-directed film.
