Satyaprem Ki Katha Box Office Collection Day 5: Kartik Aaryan-Kiara Advani's Film Sees 50% Drop On First Monday, Earns Rs 4 Crore

Satyaprem Ki Katha, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, got off to a promising start at the box office, however, the movie saw a decline of more than 50% on the crucial first Monday.

New Delhi: Last week, the romance drama Satyaprem Ki Katha, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, got off to a promising start at the box office and managed to post a respectable haul over its opening weekend. However, the movie saw a decline of more than 50% on the crucial first Monday. Satyaprem Ki Katha earned Rs 4 crore (early estimates) on Monday, according to a Sacnilk report, making its four-day total of Rs 42.50 cr. The movie's occupancy in the Hindi-speaking market was 11.68%.

On the fifth day of its release, the movie made 4 crore, bringing its total earnings to nearly 42 crore. The movie is slowly approaching the 50 crore milestone.

For 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' to have a shot at success, the week's box office totals must remain consistent. The Punjabi comic caper 'Carry On Jatta 3' is a rival to the Kartik-Kiara movie, despite the absence of any significant Bollywood releases in at present. To survive the week, the movie will have to rely on good word of mouth.

The movie earned a 12.15Cr on Sunday. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the movie's weekend collection on Sunday and wrote, "While the heavy downpour hit biz in #Mumbai#SatyaPremKiKatha had to face a mighty opponent in #Punjabi film #CarryOnJatta3, which has done exceptional biz in #Delhi and #Punjab and is creating History at the #Boxoffice.

Going forward, #SatyaPremKiKatha has to stay strong on weekdays, that’s a must… The advantage is, the absence of major films for the next few weeks, hence an uninterrupted run can prove beneficial… It’s a wait-and-watch situation right now."

Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani recently paid a surprise visit to a Mumbai theatre where the actors received a standing ovation from the audience. Sharing a video of the same, Kartik Aaryan expressed his delight and wrote, "This Standing Ovation isn’t just for Sattu and Katha but for the entire team that worked tirelessly towards this result
🤍🙏🏻
Gratitude 😊"
