New Delhi: Veteran actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik, who always had a smile on his face, left the world grieving with his untimely demise on Thursday, March 9 after suffering from a heart attack in Delhi. His 10-year-old daughter Vanshika shared a picture on social media in remembrance of her father.


Vanshika posted a picture of the father-daughter pair on Instagram. The adorable picture shows Vanshika and the late actor in an endearing moment, being all smiles. She included a heart emoji as the caption.






Satish Kaushik was married to Shashi Kaushik. The duo got married in 1985. In 1996, the actor had lost his two-year-old son Sanu Kaushik. Then in 2012, at the age of 56, he welcomed his daughter Vanshika after 18 years of marriage via a surrogacy.


Born in Haryana, Kaushik was an alumnus of the NSD and the FTII, and started his film career in the early 1980s.


For Kaushik, the road to the movies began over 40 years ago, when he boarded a train in Delhi for Bombay in pursuit of his passion for acting. Later in life, he spent the following three decades working as an actor, director, screenwriter, producer and comedian. Satish Kaushik's legacy in Indian cinema is everlasting because of his extensive body of work and styles.


He has given memorable characters such as 'Calendar' from 'Mr. India', 'Pappu Pager' in 'Deewana Mastana' among many others.


In Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency', Kaushik will make his final appearance on the big screen. He portrayed the late defence minister Jagjivan Ram in the historical drama, which was set during Indira Gandhi's time as prime minister in 1975–76 and focused on the turbulent Emergency era of India. 


His last on-screen appearance was in Rakul Preet Singh starrer 'Chhatriwali', that released in January, 2023.
