Mumbai: Legendary choreographer Saroj Khan, who passed away last year on July 3, was the first female choreographer in Bollywood. She has choreographed many superstars including Sridevi, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut to name a few.


To mark and pay a tribute to this great choreographer, producer Bhushan Kumar (Chairman and Managing Director of T-Series) has announced on her first death anniversary that a biopic will be made on Saroj Khan’s life.

Film critic Taran Adarsh shared the news on his official Twitter account and wrote, “IT'S OFFICIAL.. BHUSHAN KUMAR ANNOUNCES SAROJ KHAN BIOPIC... #BhushanKumar [#TSeries] announces biopic on legendary choreographer #SarojKhan... Further developments will be announced soon.”



Saroj Khan has choreographed more than 3000 songs in her career spanning more than 40 years. She passed away due to a sudden cardiac arrest. She was admitted to the hospital after she complained of breathing issues last year in the month of June.


Ace choreographer Saroj Khan has choreographed popular songs like ‘Chane Ke Khet Mein’, ‘Ghani Bawri’, ‘Hawa Hawaii’, ‘Dola Re Dola’, ‘Nimbooda’, ‘Ek Do Teen’, ‘Radha Kaise Na Jale’, ‘Mera Piya Ghar Aaya’, Tamma Tamma’ and many more.


Saroj Khan also won the National Film Award for Best Choreography for the song 'Dola Re Dola' from the movie ‘Devdas’.
