New Delhi: Veteran actor Sarath Babu, who was recently admitted to hospital due to multi-organ failure, is alive, stable, and recovering, his family said on Thursday, denying the rumours of his demise.
After the rumors of his death flooded social media, his brother Ayush Tejas clarified that there is no truth in it. He appealed to the actor's fans not to believe the rumours.
According to him, Babu's condition was better on Wednesday.
The doctors told the family that it will take some days for Babu to recover fully.
Tejas thanked those praying for the actor's early recovery.
“Sharath Babu's health is stable and doing fine. Please don't follow any fake rumours. Doctors said it will take little time to recover. Thanks to all fans and well-wishers for their blessings,” read his statement.
Reacting to reports about Sarath Babu’s death, his sister also said in a statement: “All the news about Sarath Babu on social media are coming wrong. Sarath Babu has recovered a bit and the room has been shifted. I hope that he recovers completely soon and talks to the media. My request is don’t believe any news on social media.”
The rumours of Babu's demise started spreading on social media on Wednesday evening. Actor Kamal Haasan was among those who fell for the hoax. He expressed his condolences but later deleted the tweet.
Actor Sarath Kumar also took to Twitter to clarify about Sarath Babu’s condition. He wrote, “The news about Sarath Babu Sir is false, please do not spread rumors, let us pray for his speedy recovery (sic),” read his statement
The 71-year-old is under treatment at AIG Hospital for age-related ailments. He was brought to Hyderabad from Bengaluru on April 20 and was admitted to AIG.
The actor is reported to be under treatment for multi-organ damage. According to sources, Babu suffered from sepsis, which impacted the functioning of the kidneys, lungs, liver, and other organs.
