New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju has been creating ripples at the box office ever since it released on June 29. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial, which brought the different facets of Sanjay Dutt’s life on the silver screen, has entered the Rs 200 crore club on Thursday. The film has managed to achieve the massive feat within seven days of release. Interestingly, the Sanjay Dutt biopic has become Ranbir Kapoor’s first film to collect Rs 200 crore at the box office. His previous most successful film was Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, which did a business of Rs 188.57 crore.


The flick has been on a record breaking spree from the very first day. Sanju minted Rs 16.10 crore to take the total collection to Rs 202.51 crore till date.

Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh shared the box office collection of Sanju on Twitter.


Sanju has now joined Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai to become the second Hindi film to collect Rs 200 crore within the first seven day days  of release. Interestingly, SS Rajamouli and Prabhas’ Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is the only film to rake in Rs 200 crore in mere six days of release.




Sanju, which has now set its eyes on the Rs 250 crore club, has become Rajkumar Hirani’s second highest grosser after Aamir Khan’s PK.

Ranbir Kapoor has received rave reviews for his brilliant performance as the Khalnayak actor. Vicky Kaushal, who played the role of Sanjay Dutt’s best friend in the film, has also been appreciated by the audience.

The film also stars Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Sonam Kapoor, Jim Sarbh, Anushka Sharma and Dia Mirza in key roles.
