Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Sanju’ has been creating ripples at the box office ever since it hit the silver screens on June 29. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial, which showed different aspects of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt’s life, has done remarkable business since its release. The film produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Hirani has entered the Rs 300 crore club on Saturday. ‘Sanju’ has become the second film after Deepika Padukone’s ‘Padmaavat’ to cross the Rs 300 crore mark in 2018.


The Sanjay Dutt biopic has proved to be the biggest hit in Ranbir Kapoor’s career. The ‘Brahmastra’ actor has received rave reviews from his brilliant transformation as the ‘Khalnayak’ actor. Apart from Ranbir, Paresh Rawal and Vicky Kaushal have also been appreciated for their stupendous performance in the film.

Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh shared the box office collection of the film on Twitter. He mentioned that despite being a non-holiday and non-festival release, ‘Sanju’ has achieved the massive feat.


Trade pundits were expecting ‘Sanju’ to do quite well at the box office and the film has managed to surpass all the expectations. The biographical film crossed the Rs 250 crore mark on day 10 and it entered the coveted Rs 300 crore club on day 16.


‘Sanju’ has now joined the likes of ‘PK’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Sultan’, ‘Dangal’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ and ‘Padmaavat’ in the list of Bollywood films which have collected Rs 300 crore or more.


Sanju, which also stars Dia Mirza, Manisha Koirala, Anushka Sharma and Sonam Kapoor in pivotl roles, has already crossed Rs 500 crore mark worldwide.
