The ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S’ actor has been lately diagnosed with lung cancer and since then Priya Dutt has been by his side like a shadow. Sanjay Dutt shared a picture along with his siter on the occasion of her birthday and penned down a note.
His caption read, “Thank you for always being a constant in my life. I wish you all the happiness of the world. Happy Birthday @priyadutt”
The ‘Parineeta’ actor’s wife Maanayata Dutt also talked about Priya in her statement after Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with lung cancer. She referred to Priya Dutt as the torchbearer and someone who holds the fort. Maanayata’s statement read, “In these trying times, unfortunately, I have been unable to be by his side in the hospital, due to my home quarantine which ends in a couple of days. Every battle has a torchbearer and someone who holds the fort. Priya who has worked extensively over two decades with our family-run Cancer foundation, and who has also seen her mother battle this illness, has been our incredible torchbearer, while I will hold the fort.”
Elaborating on the ‘Sadak 2’ actor’s treatment, Maanayata said, “For those asking, Sanju will complete his preliminary treatment in Mumbai. We will formulate further plans of travel depending on how and when the covid situation eases. As of now, Sanju is in the best hands of our esteemed doctors at Kokilaben hospital.”
On the other hand, reportedly both Priya and Maanayata Dutt will accompany the actor to the US for his treatment as he has been granted a 5-year visa.
On the professional front, Sanjay Dutt’s next seen in 'Sadak 2' co-starring Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Pooja Bhatt will premiere directly on Disney+Hotstar today.
