New Delhi: The speculation around Sanjay Dutt being a part of Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film is no longer just a speculation. Severn Screen Sturio, the production house behind 'Thalapathy 67' confirmed the same through their official social media handle. Taking to Twitter they shared a poster along with a caption that said, "We feel esteemed to welcome @duttsanjay sir to Tamil Cinema and we are happy to announce that he is a part of #Thalapathy67 (sic).”

The poster also bore a line from Sanjay Dutt sharing why he joined the project. It said, "When I heard the one liner of Thalapathy 67, I knew at that exact moment I had to be part of the film and I am thrilled to start this journey.”

Sanjay Dutt was seen in the super-hit blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2 ( Kannada film) last year and now with Thalapathy 67, this marks his foray into Tamil cinema. Besides Sanjay Dutt, the film also stars Gautham Menon and Mysskin. Arjun, Mansoor Ali Khan and Vikram are also said to be part of the film though official confirmation is yet to come in.

Meanwhile, superstar Vijay and the crew have jetted to Kashmir for a shoot. As per reports and a passenger list which has been doing the rounds on social media, Trisha and Priya Anand are also part of the crew, confirming their presence in the film.

The Lokesh Kanagaraj film will be scored by Anirudh Ravichander, a frequent collaborator with the filmmaker. 'Thalapathy 67' is the second collaboration of Vijay and Lokesh after 'Master' which was also a blockbuster.

Although it has been suggested that 'Thalapathy 67' is part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, nothing has been confirmed officially.

As per reports, the OTT streaming rights of Thalapathy 67 were bought by Netflix for ₹160 crores.
