New Delhi: 'Pushpa' starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil was a massive blockbuster. The film was appreciated on many grounds like story, action, performances and soundtrack. Another highlight of 'Pushpa' was also Samantha Ruth Prabhu's dance number 'Oo Antava'. While there has been speculation around Samantha returning to 'Pushpa 2' for a special number or a small cameo, nothing has been officially announced.
Earlier, there were reports that Samantha has rejected director Sukumar's offer for a dance number as she did not want to do any item numbers. However, now a Pinkvilla report has clarified all rumours by quoting someone from Samantha's team. Samantha's team allegedly told Pinkvilla, "It's all random rumour'.
As per many reports, the filmmaker had 'tried hard' to convince Samantha and even had created a small character for her connected to the storyline. But she turned down the offer.
Samantha had earlier charged a whopping Rs. 5 crores for the special track and it was Allu Arjun who had then convinced her to do the song when Pushpa released in 2021.
'Oo Antava' was a big hit and continues to be a party chartbuster everywhere. Now that Samantha's team has clarified rumours, we wonder if she will be a part of 'Pushpa 2' or not.
Meanwhile, Samantha also has many other projects in the pipeline like 'Citadel', 'Shaakuntalam' and 'Kushi'. Samatha will reunite with 'The Family Man' duo Raj & DK for 'Citadel' who are creating the Indian adaptation of the Hollywood version starring Priyanka Chopra that is being helmed by the Russo Brothers.
Samantha kick started shooting for 'Citadel' earlier this month and fans are super excited to see her in an action avatar. The series also stars Varun Dhawan who has recently delivered a hit 'Bhediya'.
Meanwhile, ‘Pushpa 2’ has been one of the most anticipated films and fans are super excited to watch Allu Arjun return to the film franchise.
