Mumbai: Veteran actor Dilip Kumar breathed his last on July 7. The ‘tragedy king’ of Bollywood was admitted to suburban Khar-based Hinduja Hospital on June 30 due to age-related health issues and passed away earlier today in the hospital.


Many known personalities including the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi paid tribute to the late actor and offered condolences. The Maharashtra government also announced that Dilip Kumar will be cremated with full state honours.


As soon as the news of his passing away broke out, celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Asha Bhosle, Dharmendra and others offered their condolences to his family and paid tribute to the legendary actor.


Salman Khan also shared a throwback picture with Dilip Kumar and wrote, “Best actor indian cinema has ever seen and will ever see … #RIP Dilip Saab”.



Legendary singer Asha Bhosle also paid tribute to Dilip Kumar and wrote, “I'm very sad to hear that Dilip Saab is no longer with us. He was like a big brother to me. I have great admiration and respect for his wife Saira bhabhi who has really looked after and dedicated her life to him. Lots of love to her and the family. We share your grief”



Adnan Sami also shared a collage with Dilip Kumar and wrote, “I am so heartbroken by the news that the ‘King of Cinema’ DILIP KUMAR has passed away…I admired him as an actor & respected him as he was my fathers first cousin from Peshawar. Therefore I called him Yusuf ‘Lala’. He was very loving to me & encouraged me immensely as an artiste. I will miss him dearly…”



Meanwhile, Dilip Kumar will be cremated with full state honours. Reportedly, the actor's funeral ceremony will be held in a cemetery in Santacruz.
