After repeated threats to Pakistani actors and singers by MNS workers in wake of Uri attack, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena on Tuesday(September 27) headed to Karan Johar's office to protest against the director for casting Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in his upcoming film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'.

As per the reports, an estimate of 100 party workers assembled outside the director's Andheri (West) office to protest. The party also demanded that directors of films like 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' and 'Raees' should cut out the roles of their Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan if they want their films to be released.

Actor Fawad Khan returns back to Pakistan amidst MNS threat

Meanwhile, now there are reports that 'Sultan' of Bollywood Salman Khan has came to Karan Johar's rescue. According to a report published in SpotboyE, Salman called up MNS President Raj Thackeray earlier in the day and requested him to put an end to the matter. He even requested the MNS chief to let 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' and other films such as 'Raees' starring Shah Rukh and Mahira Khan release according to schedule.

Few days back in a TV interview, Karan Johar said  “I understand the anger and the anguish, that surrounds us. I empathise and my heart bleeds for the lost lives. There is nothing that can ever explain or justify this terrible feeling of terror. It is saddening. It is heartbreaking. Terrorism is not an answer to anything. Then you are faced, in a situation such as this (ban on Pakistani artists). If this was truly a solution, then one would take it. But this is not a solution".

Karan Johar says BAN on Pakistani actors no solution to terrorism!

And now let's see if MNS will pay heed to Salman’s request or not. Hope after Salman's request to the MNS chief, the party will soften its approach towards the director and his soon to be released film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'.
