The film had collected Rs 178.7 crore making it the best opening day figures for any Indian film in 2023, surpassing films like Jawan, and Gadar 2.
'Salaar' also made its way to the Comscore chart at third position, behind Jason Momoa’s Aqua Man and The Lost King and Timothee Chalamet’s Wonka. Dunki is in the fourth spot.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala shared the news on X that both Salaar and Dunki are in the Global Christmas Weekend Top 10 list.
He wrote, “Expecting production house estimates for.. #Salaar 3 days WW Gross – ₹ 375 Crs.. #Dunki 4 days WW Gross – ₹ 215 Crs.”
‘Salaar’ was granted an A certificate by the censor board owing to the gory violence in the film.
Director Prashanth Neel had said that he was disappointed by the A certificate. "I was very disappointed. I know that I have not made a vulgar movie or a movie that is insensible with violence. The violence in the film is needed. I was disappointed, but Prabhas told me it’s okay. It was not designed for violence, but for drama and emotion," he had said.
'Salaar' also stars Shruti Haasan, Eshwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu and Sriya Reddy.
