Mumbai: Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi has been making waves ever since the teaser was unveiled. Movie buffs are quite excited for the biographical crime drama as Sanjay Leela Bhansali has helmed the project. SLB, known for his work in ‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’, has teamed up with Alia for the first time.

Gossip mills were buzzing with the rumours that ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ might skip the theatrical release and premiere directly on a leading OTT platform. It was also said that S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ and John Abraham starrer ‘Attack’ would have a direct-to-web release.

Putting an end to the speculations, Pen Studios’ Jayantilal Gada has confirmed that the three above mentioned films will release in the theatres. The official Twitter handle of Pen Movies shared the statement.

“We would like to clarify that Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR, and Attack will release in cinemas. There have been several rumours doing rounds about these films releasing on OTT platforms before cinemas which are untrue. These magnum opus films are made for the big screen experience and would be releasing in theatres," the statement read.

‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ is loosely based S. Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The film also stars Vijay Raaz and Seema Pahwa in key roles.

Talking about 'RRR', the highly anticipated flick will feature Jr. NTR and Ram Charan as main leads. Alia Bhatt and Ajya Devgn are also a part of Rajamouli's period drama.
