New Delhi: 'RRR' continues to make headlines for its nomination at the prestigious international awards like Golden Globes and the Academy 2023. As per recent reports, RRR's director SS Rajamouli and actor Ram Charan and Jr. NTR will be attending the Golden Globes awards in Los Angeles, California on January 10, 2023 for their film 'RRR'.
'RRR' has been nominated in two categories, Best Foreign Film and Best Original Song for the chartbuster 'Naatu Naatu' at the 80the Golden Globes. 'Naatu Naatu' is also on the Oscars shortlist for the Original Song category award. While SS Rajamouli has been in the States before to promote the film during screenings and shows on various occasions, both Ram Charan and Jr. NTR will be presenting their film for the first time for promotions in America.
'RRR' has already won accolades at the Saturn International awards, recognition from the Hollywood Critics Association and from the New York Critics Circle. The film has been championed by thousands of critics from across the world, especially in the US. The team of 'RRR' internationally has been campaigning for the film throughout the awards season with the film witnessing sold-out, full-house screenings across theatres in globe despite being released on streaming giant Netflix.
As per a Hindustan Times report, "Actors Austin Butler, Michelle Williams, Ana de Armas and Jamie Lee Curtis, along with filmmakers Steven Spielberg, Rian Johnson, James Cameron and Guillermo del Toro will attend the star-studded Hollywood event for their respective nominated films."
The Golden Globes will be airing live again after a two-year boycott of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) after criticism arose about the group's lack of diversity as well as unethical business practices in the organization.
The Golden Globes will air live on NBC in a three-hour telecast which will take place in the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles. The show will be hosted by Jerrod Carmichael and is set to include tributes to producer Ryan Murphy with the Carol Burnett Award, while actor Eddie Murphy will receive the Cecil B DeMille Award.
Meanwhile, 'RRR' is an epic period drama based on the lives of two Indian revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem in the 1920s. The film's ensemble cast included the likes of Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Shriya Saran, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris.
Co-written by SS Rajamouli and his father V Vijayendra Prasad, 'RRR' released in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Kannada on March 25, 2022.
