New Delhi: Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty, who donated Rs 51 lakh to FWICE to help the industry workers, has now come forward to support the Corona warriors, who are risking their lives to protect the people. Shetty has facilitated eight hotels in Mumbai for on-duty police officers to rest and have meals amid the COVID-19 pandemic.


The official Twitter handle of Mumbai Police thanked the ‘Sooryavanshi’ director for his gesture during the crucial times.

"#RohitShetty has facilitated eight hotels across the city for our on-duty #CovidWarriors to rest, shower & change with arrangements for breakfast & dinner. We thank him for this kind gesture and for helping us in #TakingOnCorona and keeping Mumbai safe," the tweet read.


Rohit Shetty had earlier provided financial aid to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to support the daily wage workers from the movie industry, who were left without any jobs due to the Coronavirus lockdown.

Several Bollywood celebs have gone an extra mile by offering their hotels and offices for the healthcare workers and police officers. Sonu Sood had offered his Juhu hotel in Mumbai for doctors, nurses and the paramedical staff for accommodation while they treat the patients.

Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan had also provided their 4-storey personal office space to BMC to help the officials expand their quarantine capacity.

Ayesha Takia and her husband Farhan Azmi have offered their South Mumbai hotel to BMC so that it can be used as a quarantine facility to treat Coronavirus patients.



According to Union Health Ministry, COVID-19 death toll has increased to 603 in the country.
