Ritu Nanda was the daughter of showman Raj Kapoor. She was sister to Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor. She has a sister called Reema Jain.
At the time of her demise, Rishi Kapoor, in a tribute, too remembered his sister. He said his sister would have been celebrating the 51st wedding anniversary in two weeks, and maybe she decided to spend it with her late husband.
Ritu Nanda was an entrepreneur and passed away in Delhi after a long battle with cancer at the age of 71. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2013 and underwent treatment in the US.
She was married to Rajan Nanda, a business tycoon and the chairman & Chief Managing Director of Escorts Limited, who passed away in August 2018.

Born in 1948, Ritu Nanda was an entrepreneur and associated with the life insurance business, was married to late industrialist Rajan Nanda, who passed away in 2018. Their son Nikhil Nanda is married to Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan's daughter Shweta Bachchan.
Ritu holds a record of selling 17,000 pension policies in a single day, for which she also entered the Guinness Book of Records.
Now, the death of Rishi Kapoor has left the family in total despair and emotional state.
