He said that the Rihanna is just a ‘tool’ who is being used in a conspiracy against Narendra Modi-led government. He even called Thunberg ‘uneducated’ while humming a song. Without mentioning names, the actor called it a ‘ploy to make Pappu’ the Prime Minister of India.

Shorey shared the clip along with the caption, “Best way to explain it is with a simple, fun song. #IndiaTogether.” The video has received over 18k likes on the micro-blogging site.

Ranvir posted the YouTube link of his new song and ‘clarified’ that he is not singer. He tweeted, “People always be like "how're you a 'songwriter' when we never heard any". And please remember: I'm not a singer; I'm a songwriter.”

The Ministry of External Affairs issued an official statement on February 3 after the likes of Rihanna and Greta commented on the farmers’ protest.  The Ministry said that some of the vested interest groups attempted to ‘mobilize international support against India’. “The temptation of sensationalist social media hashtags and comments, especially when resorted to by celebrities and others, is neither accurate nor responsible,” the MEA said in a statement.
