1New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor was recently felicitated with the Best Actor award for his performance in 'Brahmastra'. The actor shared that he did not 'fully deserve' the honour during the recent media interaction for the promotions of 'Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar'. In the interaction, Ranbir shared that he was glad that Alia won the best actor award for 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' but accepted that his performance in 'Brahmastra' was not out of the box.
“I am very grateful for the honour. I don’t think I fully deserve it for Brahmastra. Voh bahut badi kuch acting performance nahi thi," he said.
Ranbir portrayed the role of Shiva in the Ayan Mukerji film which was announced as a three-part film. The second part will be a prequel to 'Brahmastra: Part 1: Shiva' and will be released in December 2025.
When asked about the three favourite performances from the last couple of years, he complimented Allu Arjun's work in 'Pushpa', Alia Bhatt's work in 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' and SS Rajamouli's film 'RRR'.
Ranbir Kapoor was asked about the state of dismal performance of Bollywood films for quite some time now and he responded with, "Kya baat kar rahi hai? Pathaan ki collection dekhi nahi?". Ranbir then asked the journalist which publication they were from and they replied, "Abhi toh aapke bhi kuch chal rahe hai na aajkal, uska kya? Pehle woh jawab do (I think something is going on with your company these days. What about that, you tell me first).” This response left everyone in splits.
'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' stars Ranbir Kapoor, Shradhha Kapoor in a Luv Ranjan film. The film is Ranbir's first release of 2023. He will also been seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal' which also stars Rashmika Mandanna.
'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' will be released on March 8, 2023.
