New Delhi: On June 21, the creators of ‘Raksha Bandhan’ finally released the trailer for the film. With Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar playing the lead roles, this film offers a story of brother and sister love, bonding and devotion.
In the trailer's opening scene, we find Akshay fighting with his fiancée (Bhumi Pednekar) about his sisters. After his four sisters are married, he plans to marry the woman of his dreams. However, given the circumstances, Akshay finds himself in a difficult spot in which he may lose his sweetheart for good.
The trailer gives the impression that Akshay is someone who fulfils his ‘brotherly responsibilities.’

Zee Studios, Colour Yellow Productions, and Cape of Good Films are behind the comedy-drama directed by Aanand L Rai. Akshay and Aanand L Rai previously worked together on ‘Atrangi Re’ in 2021, which starred Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush.
The script is written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon. The film also casts Sadia Khateeb, Deepika Khanna, and Smrithi Srikanth in addition to the other cast members.
After the success of ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ in 2017, Akshay and Bhumi will collaborate on this film together. Aamir Khan and Kareen Kapoor Khan's highly awaited film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ will be competing with 'Raksha Bandhan' at the box office when it will premiere on August 11.
