Mumbai: Bollywood’s Khiladi Kumar has announced his upcoming film ‘Raksha Bandhan’ on social media as he commenced his shoot for the film. Akshay Kumar shared a picture from the sets of the movie and dedicated this film to his sister Alka Hiranandani.
Dedicating this Aanand L. Rai’s film to his sister, Akshay wrote on social media, “Growing up my sister, Alka was my first friend. It was the most effortless friendship. @aanandlrai’s #RakshaBandhan is a dedication to her and a celebration of that special bond Day one of shoot today, need your love and best wishes”.

Presented and distributed by Zee Studios in association with Alka Hiranandani and Aanand L Rai, ‘Raksha Bandhan’ will also be directed by Aanand L. Rai. Other than Akshay Kumar, the movie will also feature Bhumi Pednekar in a lead role. Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, Smrithi Srikanth will reportedly play Akshay’s sisters in the movie. The film is a Colour Yellow Production in association with Cape of Good Films.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of Father’s Day yesterday, Akshay Kumar took to his social media to wish all the fathers on this special day. He shared a collage image with his dad and his children and wrote, “My father gave me an ocean of love and wisdom. If I’ve been able to pass on even a few drops to my kids, my work here is well done! Happy #FathersDay to all.”
The ‘BellBottom’ actor’s wife Twinkle Khanna also dedicated a post for him and shared an adorable picture of Akshay with his daughter. While sharing the picture, Twinkle wrote, “He is her wall. She learns to stand holding onto him. Shielded, she removes bricks at eye-level and peeks at the world. He waits for the day when she will clamber over the top and becomes a wall for her own. #happyfathersday”.
Speaking on the professional front, other than ‘Raksha Bandhan’, Akshay Kumar will be next seen featuring in ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘BellBottom’, ‘Atrangi Re’, ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Prithiviraj’ and ‘Bachchan Pandey’.
