New Delhi: Veteran actor Rajinikanth, who recently underwent a surgical procedure, was discharged from Chennai’s Kauvery Hospital on Sunday (October 31). The ‘Darbar’ star was admitted to the leading hospital following an episode of giddiness, according to a report in IANS. 


The 70-year-old actor, who is gearing up for the release of ‘Annaatthe’, underwent a procedure called Carotid Artery Revascularisation on Friday (October 29).

"He was thoroughly evaluated by the expert panel of doctors and was advised to undergo Carotid Artery Revascularisation,” the hospital had issued a statement following his surgery.  



Tamil Nadu CM Visits Rajinikanth At Hospital


M.K. Stalin visited Kauvery hospital to meet the 'Enthiran' star and enquire about his health. The Tamil Nadu CM also wished for Rajinikanth's quick recovery. Fans also prayed for the well-being of their favorite superstar. They conducted a special puja for the actor at Madurai's Tirupakyandram Murugan temple, as per a report in IANS.

Rajinikanth was bestowed with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the recently held National Film Awards. The South star had shared photos on his official Twitter handle after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind in New Delhi.


"It was a pleasure to meet the esteemed President and the Prime Minister and receive their messages," the talented actor wrote in a tweet in Tamil.



When Rajinikanth Was Hospitalised While Shooting For Film


Last year, Rajinikanth was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad owing to fluctuating blood pressure. After getting discharged, the 'Shivaji' star shared a post to announce that he wouldn't launch his political party. At that time, he said that the doctors had advised him that fluctuations in his blood pressure would affect his transplanted kidney.

On the professional front, the actor will be next seen in 'Annaatthe'. The much-awaited film is slated to hit the silver screens on November 4. The Tamil drama will also feature Meena, Khushbu, Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh.
