New Delhi: Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer '2.0' is one of the highly-anticipated films of the year, all thanks to its stellar star cast, grand audio launch and large scale VFX. The Shankar directorial, which is the sequel to Enthiran, was slated to hit the silver screens in April 2018 but later was pushed to Diwali. The science fiction film will now release next year during the Republic Day weekend, thus clashing with Hrithik Roshan’s 'Super 30', a report in a leading daily suggested.

According to a report in mid-day, the makers of '2.0' decided to postpone the release of film till next year as Aamir Khan-Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs Of Hindostan is scheduled to release during Diwali while Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero is releasing in Christmas weekend. This means '2.0' and 'Super 30' are all set to battle at the box office, if the former releases in the same weekend.

A trade inside told the daily that Republic Day weekend has proved to be lucky for Hrithk Roshan and his films like ‘Agneepath’ and ‘Kaabil’ and the makers of Super 30 might not opt to change the release date.

A box-office clash with Rajinikanth’s 2.0 might not be good news for the Krrish 3 actor, a source told mid-day.

There have been a lot of speculations over why no promos or teasers for '2.0' were released. Another report in DNA suggested that the film is still under post production and hence the makers haven’t released any promo officially.

Stay tuned for more updates.
