Mumbai: Disclosing some shocking details in the alleged creation of pornographic films by businessman Raj Kundra, Mumbai Police in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon revealed that Raj Kundra and his company, in collaboration with a UK-based firm, operated an app which used to publish pornographic films. 


Breaking media over how Raj Kundra ran this business, the Mumbai Police said, "New actors, specially women actors were lured for auditions on the pretext of offering role in web series or short movies. During the audition, actors were asked to preform bold scenes which eventually translated into semi-nude and full nude shots."

The official further said that some of the female actors opposed this and even approached crime branch after which a case was registered in the matter. Acknowledging the matter, the crime branch has arrested 9 people so far including Rowa Khan, Gehna vashisht, Tanvir Hashmi. 


Mumbai police told media that during investigation, it was that some producers forced to produce short pornographic films. The Mumbai police has also arrested a man identified as Umesh Kamak who was looking after the India operation of Raj Kundra's company - Viaan.


Upon further investigation, it was found that Kundra's Mumbai based company has a tie-up with London-based company called Kenrin. The owner of the UK based firm is the brother-in-law of Raj Kundra. 


The Official told media that the company operates an app called 'Hotshots'. In collaboration with the UK firm, the duo used to but the created content and publish it on this app. Police went to reveal that the company is registered in London while the account and operations management, and content creation happened in Mumbai.  


Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai Police on Monday night in a scandal involving the production and streaming of porn films. Earlier today, Raj Kundra's aide Ryan Thorpe was also arrested.


Both Kundra and Thorpe were produced in court today where police described Raj Kundra, 45, as a "key conspirator" and claimed it had sufficient evidence against him. The duo have been sent to Police Custody till 23rd July.
