NEW DELHI: Actor Rahul Khanna went down memory lane and cherished the happy moments spent with his late father Vinod Khanna, who died on April 27.


In his first social media post since his father's death, Rahul took to Twitter to share a photo from his childhood days.

In the black and white photo, Vinod Khanna, sporting a smile on his face, is seen holding Rahul and his brother Akshaye and swinging them on a beach.

Rahul captioned it: "Feels like yesterday."


The late actor and BJP politician, 70, passed away after battling bladder cancer. He breathed his last at HN Reliance Hospital, Mumbai. His funeral was attended by several veteran actors and filmmakers including Amitabh Bachchan and Subhash Ghai.

Vinod Khanna appeared in 141 films between 1968 and 2013 including Apne, Kuchhe Dhaage,  Gaddaar, Jail Yatra, Imitihaan, Amar Akbar Anthony, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Inkaar, etc. He also forayed into politics by joining the BJP and was sitting MP from Gurdaspur, Punjab at the time of his demise. He was Minister of State for Tourism and Culture in 2002.

His last film 'Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi' released on 21 April, 2017 is a biopic on Rajmata of Gwalior, Vijaya Raje Scindia. Directed by Gul Bahar Singh, the movie also had veteran actress and MP Hema Malini.
