New Delhi: Actor Radhika Madan has been nominated for the Best Actress award at the 23rd New York Indian Film Festival for her upcoming film, 'Sanaa'. Directed by Sudhanshu Saria, a National Award-winning director, the film features Madan in the lead role of a 28-year-old woman battling unresolved trauma. Joining Madan in the category are prominent actors Deepti Naval, Kalki Koechlin, Nimisha Sajayan, and Shefali Shah.


The film has garnered significant acclaim, having already been featured in several highly-regarded film festivals. It holds the distinction of being the sole Indian film to have premiered at both the 26th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and the 38th Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Additionally, it has been selected as the opening night screening for the 25th UK Asia Film Festival.

The New York Indian Film Festival is a prestigious film festival in North America, celebrating Indian cinema and the Indian diaspora. The festival will take place from May 11 to 14, 2023, showcasing cinema from the global Indian community. With an impressive cast including Soham Shah, Shikha Talsania, and Pooja Bhatt, Sanaa is set to captivate audiences and showcase Madan's outstanding talent.
