New Delhi: Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar, known for his acting prowess, passed away on Friday (October 29) after suffering a heart attack. He was 46. According to a report in IANS, the talented actor developed severe chest pain and suffered a heart attack while he was working out in a gym.  


Several tinsel town celebs including Kajal Aggarwal, Shreya Ghoshal took to social media to mourn his untimely demise. Kajal penned a note on her Instagram handle and expressed grief over Puneeth’s death. She wrote, “This is heart breaking and so shocking. #rippuneethrajkumar may god give strength to the family, friends and fans #gonetoosoon Om Shanti.” 



"This can’t be true! Devastated to hear this. #PuneethRajkumar. A humble superstar, so young, at the pinnacle of his life simply left the world. My deepest heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans. Om Shanti," Shreya Ghoshal wrote while sharing Puneeth's photo on Instagram.



Samantha Ruth Prabhu also condoled the untimely demise of Puneeth Rajkumar. She wrote, "Gone too soon."



Puneeth Rajkumar Funeral To Take Place Tomorrow


According to a report in ANI, the mortal remains of Puneeth will be kept at Kanteerva stadium for public viewing. DCP Central Bengaluru, while speaking to the news agency, said that they have put a ban on the sale of liquor in the city for two nights as a precautionary measure.


 Puneeth Rajkumar's last rites will be conducted in Bengaluru on Saturday (October 30). 



Who Was Puneeth Rajkumar?


The actor, who was the son of cinema legend Rajkumar, was fondly known as 'Appu'. He managed to entertain the audience with his acting skills in over 25 films. Puneeth was also a TV presenter, singer and producer.


The 46-year-old bagged the National Film Award for Best Child Artiste for his performance in 'Bettada Hoovu'. He is survived by his wife and two kids.
