Global icon Priyanka Chopra has always mentioned in her interviews that she’s a daddy girl. The ‘Quantico’ actress, who got engaged with her beau Nick Jonas, shared a lovely video on Instagram and Twitter, remembering her late father Ashok Chopra on his birthday anniversary. Our ‘Desi’ girl shared a video comprising pictures of her dad with the song ‘Fathers and Daughters’ by Michael Bolton playing in the background. PeeCee, who lost her father to cancer in 2013, captioned the post as, "Dad. U r so missed. Happy birthday. Always and forever (sic)."

Priyanka’s father Ashoka Chopra was a doctor, who had retired from the Indian army as a lieutenant colonel. He left for his heavenly abode on June 10, 2013 after battling cancer.

While talking to a leading daily, Piggy Chops had earlier said that her dad’s demise was a big blow to her.

‘’His death has been a big blow. I still haven’t dealt with it. I don’t know if I’ve healed, but it doesn’t hurt either. I don’t think I have accepted it. I feel like I’m travelling all over the world, and dad will be home when I return. I think grief becomes your constant companion. You just learn to live with it," Priyanka told Hindustan Times.


The ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress got a tattoo done on her hand which reads, "Daddy's lil girl". The tattoo is in her father's handwriting, which the former Miss World made him write for some book.

On the professional front, Priyanka is busy shooting for her upcoming film ‘The Sky Is Pink’. The Shonali Bose directorial, which also stars Zaira Wasim and Farhan Aktar, is based on the life of based on the life of Aisha Chaudhary, who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Aisha became a motivational speaker at a young age of 13.

Speculations are rife that Priyanka will soon tie the knot with her fiance Nick in Hawaii; although her mother Madhu Chopra has said that the couple is yet to decide a wedding date.
