Palakkad (Kerala): Malayalam film actor Sreejith Ravi, who was arrested on Friday on the complaint of a group of school girls that he exposed himself before them, has secured conditional bail.

A court in Palakkad gave him conditional bail and asked him to surrender his passport. He was asked to furnish two sureties and Rs one lakh as well.

He has also been asked to present himself once a week before the investigation officer.

The actor was first taken into custody on Thursday following complaints from school girls of "misbehaviour" by Sreejith, an official from the Ottapalam police station told IANS.

"It was after verifying the complaint against him by school girls that the actor was arrested," said the official.

The incident that occurred last month has been denied by the actor.

Sreejith, an engineer by profession, is the son of popular actor  who has been in the industry for more than four decades.

Sreejith began his film career in 2005 and has acted in more than 50 films, including "Nallu Penunngel", directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

Some of his other popular films include "Chanthupottu" and "Mission 90 Days", which is based on the Rajiv Gandhi assassination.
