One of the most anticipated biopics of 2019 on Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, titled PM Narendra Modi is set to release on April 5. Manoj Joshi, who plays a pivotal role in the film as BJP President Amit Shah says that this has been one of the toughest roles of his acting career.
Manoj spoke about his performance in the film, and said, “I was very clear that I do not want to mimic Amit Shah ji. My job as an actor was to portray his persona, which was really tough,” he said. “Amit Shah ji is a very complex character to play because is an enigma. He is considered one of the most successful political strategists of all times and is therefore known as the modern Chanakya. To understand his thinking and to emulate that was very tough," Manoj added.
Manoj Joshi also mentioned that this role was challenging. “Amit Shah ji shares a certain relationship with the Prime Minister and enjoys access to Modi ji that no one else does. He is a man of very few words and I had to observe him for many hours so that I could get the essence of his personality,” he said.
Produced by Suresh Oberoi and Anand Pandit, the film is directed by biopic maestro Omung Kumar.
