Actress Payal Ghosh who has accused Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of alleged sexual assault has tendered unconditional apology to Richa Chadha before the Bombay High Court after the later filed a defamation case against Ghosh for her “defamatory statement” made against her in an interview.


This comes after the Bombay High court on Monday granted two days to Payal and Richa for filing their content terms to settle the matter in court.

Richa Chadha had filed a defamation suit against Payal Ghosh after the later dragged the ‘Fukrey’ actress’ name while accusing Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment.

Richa took to twitter to share the news of Payal’s apology.


Earlier, Payal Ghosh had tweeted saying, “am not apologizing to anyone. I have not wronged nor have I given a wrong statement about anyone. I just said what @anuragkashyap told me #SorryNotSorry'.'

Payal hit the headlines last month when she accused Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of alleged sexual assault and went on to file an FIR against him for rape, wrongful restrain, wrongful confinement and outraging modesty of woman.

While Kashyap denied the allegations, Payal wrote to President Ramnath Kovind the other day requesting his intervention in the sexual harassment case against the filmmaker. In the letter, she alleged lack of progress in the investigation as the accused is a highly influential person.
