New Delhi: Actress-turned-politician Payal Ghosh has declared her intention to marry Mohammed Shami, an Indian cricket player. She does, however, have a requirement. After Shami's outstanding performance at the current ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Payal took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to propose marriage to him. He has claimed 16 wickets in four games, for those who are unaware. Two five-wicket hauls are included in this. Payal declared after his outstanding performance that she is prepared to become his second wife, but she insisted that he works on his English.
"Shami I'm ready to marry you, Tum apna English sudharlo," she wrote on social media. The post began viral within no time. However, Shami is yet to raect to the proposal.

Speaking with Hindustan Times last month, Payal said, “I have been through a lot of trauma due to various people and I have named them all in the past. With trauma comes anxiety and stress and you do a lot of things you don’t in general. It causes health issues. I indulged in panic eating and it resulted in weight gain. I am trying my best to be in the best shape possible but the trauma and damage can’t be cured. I am considering seeking professional help as it is getting difficult for me day by day.”
Meanwhile, Hasin Jahan was Mohammed Shami's previous spouse. Having tied the knot in 2014, they eventually divorced. With Hasin accusing Shami of domestic abuse, match-fixing, and adultery, their divorce was contentious. Since then, the pair has split up. They welcomed their daughter in 2015.
Prior to their divorce, Shami's ex-wife Hasin Jahan had also mentioned that the cricketer wanted to marry an actress just like Virat Kohli who is married to Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. During an interview with India Today, she had said, "Just like Virat Kohli, Shami wants to get married to a Bollywood actress. He thinks he made a big mistake by taking the decision of marrying me hastily. In the last two years, Shami started giving me mental and physical torture in every possible manner. I gave up on my modelling career and job after getting married to Shami."
