NEW DELHI: Elderly lives become miserable when one's own dump them in old age. One such case from Mumbai has come into light. Geeta Kapoor (58), who was resident of Andheri is in SRV hospital, Goregaon (West) since a month. Her son Raja left her in the hospital, under the pretext of finding ATM to pay the bills and never came back. It was later, that she realised her son's plan.

After doctors' numerous attempts to contact her son and daughter (Pooja), the hospital has finally resorted to seek help from Police. In an interview to Marathi channel TV9, Geeta couldn't control her tears while sharing her agony. She revealed that she has worked as a junior artist in several films including Pakeezah(1972).

Narrating her woes, the elderly lady told Mid-day, "He used to beat me up as I did not approve of his philandering ways. He would give me food once in four days, and sometimes, even lock me up for several days. I was not ready to go to an old-age home, that's why, he planned all this. He deliberately kept me hungry and I fell ill. Then, he got me admitted and fled."

Dr Dipendra Tripathi who is treating Geeta told the daily, "Raja got her to us, lying about him being an army officer and she needing urgent treatment. He was asked to pay a deposit and complete the formalities. He left saying he would get money from the nearest ATM, but never returned. We had no option but to start the treatment as she was in a bad shape."

Reportedly her son who is a choreographer has vacated the house on that very day. Even her daughter Pooja, who is an air-hostess and currently in Pune least concerned about her mother. Doctor even contacted her but that too went in vain.
