According to reports in the Hindi news channel News 18, operators of Pakistani artistes like Fawad Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, ShafaqShafqatt Ali, Mawra Hocane and Imran Abbas Naqvi are included in dark cash exchanges in India. Allegedly, a sting operation was directed by the channel.

The news channel's sting report comes days after PM Modi declared the demonetization of Rs 500-1000 notes to check dark cash in India. As per an announcement issued by the channel, undercover reporters caught on camera the "operators of the Pakistani artistes" requesting majority of their fee in black. The charge was for the appearance in wedding functions. While a couple requested part of the charge in cash, others needed it exchanged to their financial balances in Australia or Dubai, the announcement affirmed.

According to the sting, Kapoor and Sons performing artist Fawad's director requested Rs 50 lakh for a two-hour appearance. He requested that the installment ought to be made in black and white. The black money part was to be 25 percent of the arrangement sum and the rest was to be exchanged to the performing artist's UAE-based financial balance, the statement said.

Thus, Sanam Teri Kasam on-screen character Mawra's Pak-based director requested Rs 50 lakh for a two-hour appearance and requested Rs 25 lakh in cash money to be paid to her contact in Mumbai. The rest was to be exchanged to her Australian financial balance, the channel statement said.
