The wax figurine of late legendary Bollywood actress Sridevi was unveiled at Madame Tussauds Singapore on Wednesday and the family members including husband Boney Kapoor, daughters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor along with Sanjay Kapoor, Sridevi's sister Srilatha & others were present at the event for the same. The pictures of the family posing with Sridevi's wax statue which is inspired by her 'Mr. India' iconic song 'Hawa Hawai' golden avatar has been going viral on social media and the users are sending wishes praising the female superstar of Bollywood. But when it comes to the look of the statue, most of these are left deeply disappointed and find it "no where close to what Sridevi looked like". The features of the smiling wax statue of Sridevi's are far away from the actress' stunning looking face.


On her birth anniversary, Madame Tussauds had announced the wax statue of the late legendary actress Sridevi in her honour and it if finally unveiled today at Singapore museum.

Husband Boney Kapoor had shared a video glimpse of the statue on Tuesday and had written a heartfelt note ahead of the unveiling which read - "Sridevi lives forever in not just our hearts but also in the hearts of millions of her fans. Eagerly waiting to watch the unveiling of her figure at Madam Tussauds, Singapore on September 4, 2019. #SrideviLivesForever".

It is not difficult to notice that while the wax figure does look similar to Sridevi with it's 'Hawa Hawai' look, it lacks precision when it comes to the face and the features. The reactions by fans in the comments section of various Instagram posts by popular paparazzis are all filled with disappointment. "Bas naam hai sridevi ji ka dikh to kuch aur hi raha ye statue agar banana nahi tha to nahi banate" -wrote one user.

These also included the Kannada actress Tejaswini Prakash who too expressed her unhappiness over Sridevi's wax figure. She wrote - "Am really sorry to say this ... , the wax statue nowhr looks like sridevi mam.[pensive/sad face emoji] face defination has completely changed., nothing in the world can recreate her [face with rolling eyes emoji]."

Before Sridevi, Bollywood celebrities like Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Diljit Dosanjh, Karan Johar, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Sunny Leone and Kajol have been immortalized in wax in the past two years at various Madame Tussauds museums. Some of these like Priyana and Deepika's are too real-looking and were praised heavily by fans. The global star Priyanka now has 4 different Madame Tussauds wax statues placed at locations New York, Sydney, Singapre and London.
