New Delhi: Avatar: The Way of Water's second trailer, which debuted recently, gives viewers a close-up view of Pandora's water life. As we revisit the story of Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri's (Zoe Saldanda) family in the sequel, which is set 13 years after the events of the first movie, a new threat has emerged that they must contend with.

Similar to the earlier movie trailers, this one also gives viewers a look at the visually spectacular alien setting that director James Cameron has laboriously built over a decade. It introduces both new and old characters while once again exploring new areas of Pandora. Jake Sully, Neytiri and their kids will have to go to lengths for their survival.

The two-minute clip offers a more in-depth look at Jake Sully and his family's existence and Jake promises to defend them from unforeseen dangers. Jake Sully and Neytiri also teach their kids to ride their individual dragons. As the new video displays some breathtaking images of Pandora and aquatic life, we see that the ocean turning into a battleground.

The sequels were said to be announced by director James Cameron in 2011. However, he recently revealed that it took at least 13 years to come up with the screenplay for Avatar 2. Sharing his story with Variety, he told that a complete screenplay for "Avatar 2" had been prepared before Avatar: The Way of Water, but it had to be discarded. It turns out that throughout the 13 years between 2009's Avatar and 2022's The Way of Water, at least one whole year was devoted to writing a script that will never be released.

Apart from Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, Avatar: The Way of Water also stars Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, and Kate Winslet in lead roles.

The James Cameron movie will premiere on December 16 in all countries, 13 years after the first blockbuster, and the sequel has indeed created much hype among the audience. The movie will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
