Opposition leaders have expressed their displeasure over the renaming of the cricket stadium in Gujarat. Author Tom Holland posted a tweet on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which piqued the interest of the Twitter users. He tweeted, “I’m a huge admirer of the modesty Modi showed in naming the world’s largest cricket stadium after himself.”
The author further wrote, “Not always a good sign for countries when leaders start pulling that trick.” His tweets grabbed several eyeballs as the netizens believed that he took a dig at PM Modi.

Actor Tom Holland trended on social media after the Twitter users mistook the author as the ‘Spider Man’ star. Many netizens slammed the 24-year-old actor and threatened to boycott his upcoming film ‘Spider Man: No Way Home’ in India.

Tom Holland didn’t think that his tweet would trigger a trend against the upcoming film on social media. He was quick enough to react to the trend and apologize to the makers. He tweeted, “Oh dear - I seem single-handedly to have destroyed prospects for the next Spider-Man in India.”
He added, “My apologies to @SpiderManMovie. I should have remembered that with great power comes great responsibility.”
The author posted another tweet to ‘save Marvel’s profit in India’. “Just for the record, & to save Marvel’s profits in India, I freely acknowledge that Narendra Modi is a man of immense humility, and that his naming the world’s largest cricket stadium after himself is in no way quite hilariously immodest,” his tweet read.
