National Film Awards Ceremony 2023 Highlights: Waheeda Rehman Gets Emotional, Alia, Allu, Kriti Receive Award
The National Film Awards 2023 was held on Tuesday at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu will confer the awards to the winners.

While receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award Waheeda Rehman said, “I want to share my award with my industry colleagues.”
RRR got six awards including Best Film For Wholesome Entertainment. The film's director SS Rajamouli received the award.
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect actor and director R Madhavan received the National award.

Filmmaker Karan Johar receives the National Film Award for Shershaah. Director Vishnu Vardhan also received an award for the film.

Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur thanked the Indian film industry for entertaining people even during the coronavirus pandemic. He also requested to not divide the film industry into regions. He mentioned films like 'Sardar Udham', 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' during his address.

National Film Awards ceremony begins.
Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who had won Best Supporting Actor Award for 'Mimi', arrived for the awards ceremony. Talking about his journey, the actor said, "The journey has been very beautiful. This is my second National Award. I’m very happy."
Veteran actor Waheeda Rehman, who is conferred with Dadasaheb Phalke Award, arrived for the ceremony. Talking about the honour, the actor said, "I’m very happy and grateful.”
Madhavan arrives for the award ceremony. His film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect bagged the National Award for Best Feature Film. The film is based on Indian aerospace scientist Nambi Narayanan’s life. Madhavan shared Nambi’s reaction when the actor told him about the National Awards: “To see a childlike smile on the face of 80-year-old man was something else. Looking at his reaction, the entire team had tears in their eyes and we thought, well it was all worth it.”
Kriti Sanon arrived for the ceremony. The actor said, "The journey has taken me nine years to be getting this prestigious award. I am really fortunate and blessed that I got an opportunity like Mimi."
Alia Bhatt arrived for the award ceremony with husband Ranbir Kapoor. The actor said that the words can't express how happy and excited she is. The actor also thanked Sanjay Leela Bhansali for 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'.
Actor Allu Arjun, who will be given the Best Actor award for Pushpa, arrived at the red carpet. Sharing his excitement the actor said, "I am extremely happy and the happiness is more because the award is for a commercial film."
Karan Johar, RRR director Rajamouli, and other winners start arriving for the ceremony. Karan Johar shared, "We are humbled, honoured and privileged to be here. Personally, it's been an exciting year. I completed 25 years in the industry, In 1998 my first film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai released, which also won the National Award for the Wholesome and Popular Entertainer of the Year. 25 years later, I am back here, what more can I ask for? I just feel very humbled and overwhelmed."
RRR director Rajamouli shared, "I am a filmmaker who makes films for the audience and that is my first aim. Awards are just like a bonus but when you get 6 National Awards for your film, we feel very very happy." Recalling the fondest memory from the days when RRR was released, Rajamouli added, "We always remember the first day of our film's release. There was a lot of anxiety and fear, but as the appreciation started pouring in...no one can forget the first few hours of release.."
Actor Allu Arjun reached Delhi on Monday to attend the awards ceremony. He was accompanied by his wife Sneha Reddy at the airport. He won the Best Actor Award for his film 'Pushpa: The Rise'.
Filmmaker SS Rajamouli and music composer MM Keeravaani also reached Delhi on Monday for the ceremony. Rajamouli won the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment for RRR and Keeravaani won Best Music Director for the same film.

New Delhi: The National Film Awards 2023 was held on Tuesday at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu will confer the awards to the winners. Winners like Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, Allu Arjun, and Karan Johar have flown to Delhi for the ceremony.
The awards ceremony will be telecast live on DD National from 1:30 pm onwards and will be streamed live on DD National's YouTube channel.
The X handle of Doordarshan National made the announcement with a poster and a caption thay read, “#Celebrate talent and excellence at the 69th National Film Awards at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Join us live on #DDNational, Tuesday, October 17th, at 1:30 PM.”
In August 2023, the winners' names were announced. Allu Arjun was named as the Best Actor for his film Pushpa and Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon were named as Best Actress for Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi respectively.
Madhavan starrer Rocketry: The Nambi Effect bagged National Award for Best Feature Film. While Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR was awarded best popular film providing wholesome entertainment, Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ won award for best film on national integration.
