New Delhi: National Cinema Day will be celebrated on Friday, October 13th. Tickets to films will cost as little as Rs. 99 per person in India on that day. This is a celebration of this year's tremendous box office earnings.

The perks for National Cinema Day might only be available in a few places, PVR Inox recently noted in a tweet. They stated that South Indian theatres (in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh) are unable to sell tickets for Rs. 99 due to state laws. Additionally, they pointed out that on October 13 you'll be able to purchase food and beverages for cheaper. But it all depends on the venue or platform you pick.

Due to the lower ticket costs, National Cinema Day last year garnered extensive global media coverage. The discount does not, however, apply in India for tickets purchased for premium seating selections like IMAX, 4DX, and recliner seats, unlike the international event this year. From the previous year, when movie screenings started at 6 a.m., an estimated 6.5 million people have been reported to have showed up, the cost of tickets has increased from Rs 75 to Rs 80.

Last month, the Multiplex Association announced that they would be hosting a day of movie watching in over 4,000 locations across India. These locations include PVR Inox, Cineplex, Miraj, and Citypride. Other locations include Asiatic, Mukta, and A2. Other exhibitors include Movie Time and Wave, as well as M2K and Delite. The association said that this event will bring together people of all ages to celebrate the amazing success of movies this year.

"We want to thank all the moviegoers who have supported us and extend an invitation to all those who have not yet returned to the local cinema," the tweet read.

The audience can now enjoy their favourite movie at the lowest price with their family and friends. The audience can avail this National Cinema Day offer by booking the ticket online through BookMyShow, PayTM, and other platforms.
