New Delhi: US President Donald Trump with First Lady Melania Trump finally reached India on Monday (Feruary 24). A red carpet welcome was given to them amid sounds of conch shells after their Air Plane landed at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on his first official visit to India in a bid to strengthen ties between the two countries. Trump is also accompanied by his daughter Ivanka and a 12-member delegation. On disembarking the aircraft at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Trump was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the famous "bear-hug".


Trump's cavalcade took a brief halt at Sabarmati Ashram during his roadshow from International Airport post which they reached Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad for the mega event 'Namaste Trump'.

While addressing a huge gathering of people at India's largest stadium, the US president also talked about Bollywood industry and how people across world like Shah Rukh Khan & Kajol starrer 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'.

He said, "All over the planet people take great joy in watching Bollywood films, bhangra, and classic films like DDLJ and Sholay. You cheer on great cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli."

Speaking about Donald Trump's two-day visit, he will vist Delhi and Agra after Ahemadabad. On Tuesday night, he will fly back to the US Capital Washington. The US President will also meet his Indian counterpart -- Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Trump is also scheduled to meet top Indian business leaders as part of a CEO round-table at the US embassy before heading back to the US tomorrow.
