The film follows the adventure of middle-class girl Shabana who loses her special one and how she grounds being a part of special agency. Taapsee, through her splendid execution, packs a punch in the trailer and gets your consideration with her action sequences.

Discussing the trailer, executive Neeraj Pandey stated, "Let me put it that way - it's (Naam Shabana) a spin-off and that one scene in Baby made an impact on the audience and that's how we came about making a film on the character Shabana."

Adding to this, Taapsee stated, "I might be the face of the film but nothing would have been possible if Neeraj wouldn't have got actors like Akshay, Anupam, Danny and Prithviraj on board. I'm glad that a star like Akshay is backing the film."
