It was the proud husband Virat Kohli who shared this video on his Instagram page captioning it - "Saw these people throwing garbage on the road and pulled them up rightfully. Travelling in a luxury car and brains gone for a toss. These people will keep our country clean? Yeah right!!! If you see something wrong happening like this, do the same and spread awareness. @anushkasharma".
In the video [presumably shot by Virat himself],Anushka is seen at first gesturing the other car to pull over and once the driver brings it alongside her's, she can be heard yelling at the man [clearly seen in the video] -"Why you are throwing garbage on the road? [repeats it...]Why you're throwing garbage on the road?? [He says something in responce which is inuaudible].. Yes! why you're throwing plastic on the road? Please be careful, you can't just throw plastic around like that on the streets! Use a dustbin!". And she turns back.
Whoa! Kudos to Anushka!
We have seen Akshay Kumar a few years ago doing the same when he posted a picture of himself when he picked up an empty cigarette pack just thrown out from a car and at red light he walked upto the person asking them to roll down their car window, and gave it back to him.
Akshay had then in 2011 taken to his Facebook account and wrote a long note giving out this very important message as a responsible citizen to everyone.
It read -
"I'm going to start with an apology, I'm sorry for this negative message guys, its just that on days like today I cant stand the ignorance of some people. On my way to work this morning this guy really frustrated me. I had to get out of my car in the middle of Bombay traffic right by Mr Bachchan's house, & literally pick up off the road an empty packet of cigarettes that this man decided to carelessly throw out his window without a second thought. Not only do we have to put up with the fact he smokes but we also have to deal with the fact that he doesn't care a damn about his city or his motherland that God has so graciously provided for him. If we all treated the streets of India with as much love as we do our homes & temples, we would have 5 star ratings on cleaniness rather than being known as one of the dirtiest cities in the world. I'm no angel, I drive a car, I fly in planes, sometimes I accidently leave the light on, but I consciously try everyday not to dirty or abuse our city. Question is do you? What's the worst thing you've ever done to our environment, something u walked away from that u wished deep down u hadn't done? I know for sure the guy that littered in front of me today wont forget his actions. I must say I'm sorry for scaring him but don't abuse India's streets & maybe they wont abuse you! Dont forget, let me know ur bad habits smile emoticon sometimes writing about them helps u confront & consciously strive to better them. I cant help it i love my country, i just cant cant stand those who dont...(sic)"
In 2011, Akshay Kumar gave an empty cigarette pack back to a car owner who had thrown it out of the window with a long message he posted on Facebook
Such incidents are truly inspiring when influential people like Bollywood celebrities come out to give such strong messages helping keeping country clean and Anushka Sharma just blew us away with the way she dealt with it!
Hope the guy (in the video) has learnt his lesson and won't repeat this mistake and the ones reading it also practice this.
Stay tuned to Filmy Monkey for all updates!
UPDATE: Man ‘shamed’ by Anushka Sharma & Virat Kohli for littering, LASHES OUT at the couple!
