Our Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra has been ruling the internet ever since she made a very special appearance on the Red Carpet of MET Gala 2019 that was held on Monday in the NYC and her look also invited hilarious memes on social media getting the 'The Sky Is Pink' actress trending all day. Priyanka walked the red carpet with her husband Nick Jonas who she had met for the first time at the same event 2 years ago, wearing the Dior Haute Couture silver gown with colourful and vibrant feathered ruffles coupled with a matching cape. Some called the look inspired by The Mad Hatter, while others compared it with that of the Red Queen thanks to the bushy curls on which sat a long spiky silver crown.


Peecee got trolled for her appearance too with the memes flooding the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram on the day.

And while the people are having a hearty laugh over her look, here's what her mommy Madhu Chopra has to say about her appearance at the MET Gala 2019 Red Carpet.

Back in India at an event, Madhu was asked for her reaction on her daughter's look and she said interacting with media- "Immediately photo dekhte hi maine phone kiya. Kya reaction hoga? Itni duur se kya reaction hoga! Mere samne hoti to jhappi lagaati. Bohot sunar lag rahi thi aur bohot special lag rahi thi. Aapko achhi lagi ki nahi?[Reporter: Haan!]Achha theek hai![walks away]".

During same interview, answering another journalist's question about Peecee's look, Madhu blew kisses for the daughter, saying- "She was[blows a kiss] She was absolutely[blows another kiss] amazing! She was wearing Dior but it was classy and so special so unique[looks at a person] Hai na? Right?".




Priyanka had completed the look with grey tinted eyebrows, eyes lined with a white eyeliner, dark maroon lip and shimmering sheer stockings. Styled by Mimi Cuttler, Priyanka also gave a nod to her Indian roots by using 'bindis', not one but three on her face.

It was an anniversary of sorts for the couple, who first posed for the shutterbugs on the 2017 Met Gala red carpet in Ralph Lauren designs before tying the knot last December. They are also part of the 2019 Met Gala Host Committee, presided over by Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
