Mumbai: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) put up posters outside Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s residence, requesting him to give a portion of Prateeksha for road widening work. The MNS workers protested outside the ‘Deewar’ actor’s house, asking Big B to show ‘his big heart’ and help in easing the traffic congestion at Sant Dnyaneshwar Marg.

The party workers put banners outside Bachchan’s house, urging him to cooperate with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in regards to the road widening work.

The BMC started compliance on its previous notice to demolish a part of Amitabh's Prateeksha for widening of road in order to ease traffic woes. The civic body had asked the Mumbai Suburban Collector to demarcate a portion of a road touching Big B’s bungalow in Juhu.

The BMC issued a notice to Bachchan's family, stating that a portion of their bungalow plot will be acquired to widen the Sant Dnyaneshwar Marg Road.

Congress corporator Tulip Mirana, while talking to PTI, said that the BMC had informed Amitabh and seven other property owners about widening work in 2017. She told the news agency that the wall of the plot adjoining Prateeksha was demolished but the bungalow was not even touched.

The BMC, in its letter issued in May 2021, asked the Suburban District Collector to undertake ‘necessary action on measurement and demarcation’ of the said road. The letter mentioned that Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray repeatedly asked for the 'road widening work to be expedited’, the report in PTI added.
