New Delhi: Popular actor Manoj Bajpayee’s father RK Bajpayee passed away at the age of 83 on Sunday morning (October 3, 2021) after a prolonged illness.


According to sources, the condition of Manoj's father had been very critical for the past few days. ‘The Family Man’ actor had stopped his shooting a few days back to be with his ailing father in Delhi.


The news of Manoj Bajpayee’s father’s death was confirmed by ‘SHE’ director Avinash Das on Twitter. He shared a picture of Manoj Bajpayee with his father and penned down a heartfelt note. Avinash wrote in Hindi, “Manoj Bhaiya's father is no more. Missing the moments spent with him. I took this picture in Bhitiharwa Ashram. He was a man of great endurance. Always kept himself away from his son's success. He was a great man. Prayers.”



Manoj Bajpayee's father's funeral will take place at 1:30 PM at Nigam Bodh ghat in Delhi.


After his father got admitted to a hospital in Delhi some time ago, the ‘Dial 100’ actor rushed to the capital to be with his family. He was reportedly shooting in Kerala for his upcoming project, and the filming has been halted for a while now.


On the professional front, Manoj Bajpayee recently won the Best Actor Award at the Asian Academy Creative Awards for his performance in the web series ‘The Family Man 2’. His performance in the series also bagged him the award for Best Performance (Male) in Web Series at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne Awards 2021.


Manoj Bajpayee will be next seen in movies like ‘Kurup’ and ‘Despatch’.
