Imtiaz Ali directed 'Love Aaj Kal', featuring Sara Ali Khan, Kartik Aaryan, Randeep Hooda & newcomer Arushi Sharma in pivotal roles, finally hit the theatres this Friday (February 14) and the film fetched mixed response from critics. 'Love Aaj Kal' began on a good note at the box-office due to Valentine's Day however the film witnessed a dip on second day. On Sunday, the film has failed to witness any significant jump in the collections and has put up a disappointing total in first weekend.

On the third day of its release, 'Love Aaj Kal' has collected Rs. 8.10 Crore thereby making the grand total to Rs. 28.51 crore. Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh shared 'Love Aaj Kal' second day box office collection on Twitter.

He wrote, "#LoveAajKal is rejected... Dips on Day 2, falls flat on Day 3... Advantage #ValentinesDay [Day 1], else *3-day total* would be lower... Tough road ahead [weekdays]... Fri 12.40 cr, Sat 8.01 cr, Sun 8.10 cr. Total: ₹ 28.51 cr. #India biz. #LoveAajKal [2009] weekend: ₹ 27.86 cr."

Keeping in mind the success of Kartik & Sara's last releases, 'Love Aaj Kal' was expected to do wonders at the box-office. However, the film has fallen flat. Valentine's Day boosted the collections on first day and trade pundits were expecting that the film perform decently during the first weekend but the has failed to perform as per expectations. Now, it'll be interesting to see how the film will fare during weekdays.

For the uninitiated, Imtiaz Ali has earlier directed another film with the name 'Love Aaj Kal'. The original 'Love Aaj Kal' released in 2009 and featured Sara's father Saif Ali Khan in lead role alongside Deepika Padukone.
