New Delhi: Akshay Kumar starrer 'Laxmii' has remained in limelight ever since the makers unveiled the trailer of the film on October 9. The horror comedy drama was earlier titled 'Laxmmi Bomb' but the makers decided to change the title after discussing with the Central Board of Film Certification. According to a report in Zoom, Shri Rajput Karni Sena, sent a legal notice to the producers, accusing them of 'hurting religious sentiments' by associating the word 'Bomb' with Hindu Goddess Laxmi.

New Poster Of 'Laxmii'


Keeping in mind the sentiments, the producer modified the title to 'Laxmii'. Earlier in the day, they shared a new poster featuring Akshay Kumar and film's leading lady Kiara Advani on social media. Khiladi Kumar posted the photo along with the caption, "Ab harr ghar mein aayegi #Laxmii! Ghar waalon ke saath taiyaar rehna 9th November ko!" Check it out!


'Laxmii' Star Cast


While Akshay and Kiara will be seen in lead roles, the likes of Ashwini Kalsekar, Rajesh Sharma and Ayesha Raza Mishra are playing pivotal characters in 'Laxmii'. The much-awaited flick has been produced by Cape of Good Films, Tusshar Entertainment House and Shabinaa Entertainment.

The trailer of the film has received over 20 million views on Fox Star Hindi's YouTube handle. The trailer of 'Laxmii' reportedly became the most-watched trailer in India within 24 hours of release. Several Bollywood celebs including Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Sidharth Malhotra and Vaani Kapoor lauded the film's trailer on Twitter.

'Laxmii' Release Date


The film will premiere directly on Disney+ Hotstar VIP on November 9. It was originally slated to hit the silver screens on Eid 2020; however, it couldn't release on its scheduled date to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Akshay will be seen playing the role of a transgender in 'Laxmii'. He donned sarees and wore bangles for his character in the highly-anticipated movie. The film is the Hindi remake of Tamil hit 'Muni: Kanchana 2'. Raghava Lawrence, who helmed the Tamil drama, has directed 'Laxmii'.
