'Rock On' fame Abhishek Kapoor's next directorial 'Kedarnath, featuring Sushant Singh Rajput opposite Saif Ali Khan-Armita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan in lead role, is in the news ever since the film was announced. At first, 'Kedarnath' came into limelight as it was supposed to be the Bollywood debut of Sara but it got embroiled in various controversies due to the legal battle between ex-producers 'KriArj' & director which resulted in a delay. Few weeks ago, there were reports that 'Kedarnath' has been pushed to next year but here comes a great news for Sushant and Sara fans as the film is set to release this year on 7th December.

On the poster Sushant, who plays a 'pithoo' (who carries luggage and pilgrims to the shrine), is carrying Sara (a tourist). The poster also has the new release date (7th December) which confirms that Sara will make her debut with 'Kedarnath' and not Rohit Shetty's 'Simmba' opposite Ranveer Singh which is set to hit theatres on 28th December later this year.

Kedarnath actress Sara Ali Khan ANGRY on media for clicking her at temple!

On the eve of teaser release of Sara Ali Khan's debut film "Kedarnath", producer of the film Pragya Kapoor on Monday said the film is not a usual love story.

"Set against the backdrop of nature's fury, Kedarnath is not an everyday love story. Shooting on virgin and undeveloped terrain was as thrilling as it was draining. This has made the journey to completion a well-earned reward.

"All thanks to the invaluable contributions of the entire cast and crew. We are all charged up about bringing Kedarnath to our audiences," Pragya said in a statement.

Shot along a 14-km pilgrimage from Gauri Kund to Kedarnath -- the 2000-year-old temple of Lord Shiva, the film depicts the love story of Mansoor and Mukku played by Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara, respectively.

The mountain tsunami that wrecked the temple town in June of 2013, leaving thousands dead, sets the backdrop for this love story.

Produced by RSVP and Guy In The Sky Pictures, Kedarnath carries a tagline "Love is a Pilgrimage".
