New Delhi: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s ongoing tussle with the Shiv Sena has become the talk of the town. The ‘Panga’ star set several tongues wagging when she compared Mumbai to Pakistan occupied Kashmir, alleging Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut gave her an open threat and asked her not to come back to Mumbai. She had announced her return to the Maximum City on social media and dared anyone to stop her.

Kangana arrived in Mumbai on September 9 amid protests from the Shiv Sena workers at the airport. Few hours before her arrival, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) team demolished parts of her property in Pali Hill, citing ‘illegal alterations’.

The ‘Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi’ actress has now sought a damage compensation of Rs 2 crore from the BMC for demolishing parts of her bungalow in Mumbai. For the uninitiated, Pahadi beauty had moved the Bombay High Court against BMC’s demolition drive at her property. The Bombay HC had put a stay order on the demolition last week.

Kangana Ranaut’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui, while exclusively talking to ABP News, had said that the ‘Queen’ actress suffered losses worth Rs 2 crore. He also said that he would recover the damages at any cost.

"Never have i seen such an action in my entire career. It is evident that it was driven by ulterior motive, hidden agenda behind all this.  Doesn't BMC, Bandra police officers have anything else to do during covid times?," Rizwan told ABP News.

According to a report in Times Now, Kangana has now amended her petition before the High Court. She has also demanded Rs 2 crore from the civic body as damage compensation.

The Bombay High Court will hear the matter next week.

Amid all the hullabaloo, Kangana returned to her hometown on Monday (September 14). She shared a post on official Twitter handle and said that she was leaving the city with a ‘heavy heart’.

"With a heavy heart leaving Mumbai, the way I was terrorised all these days constant attacks and abuses hurled at me attempts to break my house after my work place, alert security with lethal weapons around me, must say my analogy about POK was bang on," the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Kangana visited her office on September 10, a day after the BMC demolished parts of her property. She reportedly couldn't control her tears after inspecting her damaged bungalow. The 'Gangster' actress and her sister Rangoli Chandel met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on September 13 at Raj Bhavan.

Kangana said that she explained her point of view to the Maha governor and hoped 'justice would be given' to her.
